Some people might argue that using a
capsule coffee machine is cheating your way to a cup of coffee, but it is no
denying that this is a quick and hassle free route to a homemade espresso.
Capsule coffee machines offer espresso for those of us who lead busy lives and those
who are lack the manual dexterity to use a traditional espresso maker.
You simply add a
pre-packaged pot of coffee to your machine, and press a button, then wait for
espresso to drip out of the spout.
Difference between ESE
Pods and capsule coffee
Many confuse coffee pods
with coffee capsules, but the two formats are completely different.
'Easy serving espresso'
(ESE) coffee pods are a pad of coffee wrapped in filter paper, a bit like a
large tea bag, which can be used in a traditional coffee machine instead of
ground coffee.
Coffee capsules, such as
Nespresso, are little sealed pots of ground coffee that are inserted into an
espresso machine. The machine pierces the capsule and forces hot water through
to make espresso.
Like ESE pods, they
contain just enough coffee for one shot and both formats benefit from being
mess-free, compared to using ground coffee.
Both ESE pods and
capsules are effectively just a different way of packaging ground coffee. ESE
pods are less popular now, so much so that we stopped producing and developing
them.
The most important thing
is that how effectively the coffee machine is able to extract the flavour from
the coffee, regardless of what format is used. This is also where our
R&D department are dedicated.
Capsule coffee machines
are easy to use and clean, extremely convenient and there are plenty of
options.
It is very easy to
choose a best coffee machine as long as you learn more about it.
